Non-gaming PlayStation4 streams battled by Twitch

by GH Staff

Twitch, the video game company for streaming, spent the whole weekend pulling out a substantial number of streams that are not game related from PS4 users. Reports from the company indicated that more than several lewd non-gaming streams were canned. Some of them were removed following some indecent comments placed in chat according to some of the Reddit users.

Over the weekend, a few number of tweets were issued by Twitch. The tweets reiterated the company’s policy that did not allow any comments that were not related to gaming to be placed in chat. Twitch stated to their users’ that they will continue to do so according to their Terms of Service. They added that at no point would they allow non-gaming content to be posted. They finished by saying that any user of their PlayStation 4 Playroom must adhere to their Terms of Service (ToS). Content posted by users must be about gaming or games, and it should also meet their ToS. Lastly, they thanked their users for understanding.

According to the company, when they tell their users they are allowed to discuss gaming, they mean that content placed in their chat should be gaming content. Currently, there are many channels that users can use on Twitch. An example of one popular channel is One More Game. Last week, a wife and husband couple started a PlayStation 4 call-in show. They hit the headlines at that time when streaming using PlayRoom. PlayRoom is an application that utilizes the PS Camera in reality games that are augmented.

The call-in show by the couple was popular. It was popular to the extent that Adam Boyes from Sony called in and said they were of the thinking that people would only do streams. He finished by saying they had never thought some people would at one point do streams with PlayRoom.

We would love to hear your sentiments on the same subject.
