Nvidia has added a new product to its now expanded line of Shield product. The new Shield Tablet features a 1080p display and Nvidia ‘s highlight specification the Tegra K1 GPU that is constructed from Nvidia’s own GTX PC GPU’s.
The Shield Tablet is available for pre-order here link. Coming in two varieties a Wi-Fi 16GB model for $299 and a 32GB 4G LTE model that with service provided by T-Mobile as well as AT&T for $399. The Shield Tablet also is equipped with a 5MP front , and back camera as well. A HDMI out port and expandable storage up to 128GB. Another cool accessory that comes with the Shield Tablet is its GPU enhanced stylus which will provide optimal performance.
To fully take advantage of the Shield Tablet for gaming purposes you may want to purchase the WiFi direct connection Controller. To enjoy the games available such as Half Life 2 and Portal you will have to purchase separately for $59.99 , but touch controls also works fine. You should also purchase the Shield Tablet cover which doubles as a kickstand to provide 3 different viewing angles for you to choose from when you have the Shield Tablet utilized as a set top box to your HDTV or watching a movie on Netflix which is the first ever Android device to stream in 1080p.
The Shield tablet will also feature Android L when it is available from Google. Nvidia Game Stream and Grid Streaming systems will be available upon launch of the device on July, 29 with pre-orders of the Shield Tablet available now.
