Marie, the character introduced in Persona 4 Golden for the PS Vita, will join the roster of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax as post-launch DLC. Her moniker is “Hollow Forest Tsundere Poet” and she fights with her Persona Kaguya, using ranged attacks and diversion techniques. She’s been confirmed recently by Famitsu magazine, joining the console cast along with Tohru Adachi, the main antagonist of the original Persona 4 game, and Rise Kujikawa. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax introduced ‘Shadow’ versions of each character that behave very differently to their normal counterparts and also introduced an original character called Sho Minazuki, who has both a solo form and one with a Persona.
Known in Japanese arcades as ‘Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold’, this new title is the sequel to the Persona 4 fighting game: Persona 4: The Ultimate In Mayonaka Arena, or Persona 4 Arena for short. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 this fall, and Atlus has confirmed that it will not be region locked like the original Persona 4 Arena was. When the previous game was region locked, it caused a big problem for the competitive fighting game scene, especially its European players who didn’t receive the game until several months later. The game launches in Japan on August 28th for PS3 and players will be able to import even before the US release.
