After last year’s disappointing announcement, which said that Persona 5 was expected to release Holiday 2014 exclusively for the PlayStation 3, fans of the Persona series cried out.
Game publisher Atlus has apparently had a change of heart, and revealed during the Sony Pre-TGS press conference that Persona 5 would be releasing in Japan sometime during 2015 for both PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
Earlier this year, gamers were unsure whether or not Person 5 would come to North America, however Atlus has previously confirmed that the game indeed will. Unfortunately, it is unknown when the North American PS4 version of Persona 5 will be released.

Persona 5 Trailer
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Persona series, it is a spin-off of the Shin Megami Tensei franchise. You can read a brief summary of the game series below:
“…is a series of role-playing video games developed and published by Atlus. The series is a spin-off of the Megami Tensei series which focuses on demon summoners. However, the Persona series centers around groups of teenagers who have the ability to summon facets of their psyche, known as Personas, into being. The game draws many elements from Jungian psychology and various Jungian archetypes…”
In the case of game director Katsura Hashino, he stated the following regarding the main plot of Persona 5:
“I feel that in today’s world, there’s no shortage of people that are bored and discontent with their lives. They’re at a dead end, chained down to a world of which they resent being a part. Persona 5, in that sense, is a game about freedom, the kind that those sorts of people haven’t had living in the real world”
You may have also heard of Persona 4 Arena, which was another deviation from the main series in the fact that it was, it its core, a 2-D fighting game.
