In the states it’s November and that means it’s almost time for Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This year the Pokemon Company is debuting a new Thanksgiving balloon for fan favorite Pokemon Pikachu. According to @Pokemon on Twitter and the image shown in promotional art for the parade. The yellow Pokemon mascot will be wearing a green festive scarf and is also holding a miniature Pikachu snowman with a little Santa cap.
Pikachu first appeared in 2001 for the 75th anniversary Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. In 2001 Pikachu appeared once again for the parade and also made an appearance on a float with characters such as Kermit the Frog and Snoopy. For the 2006 Thanksgiving Day Parade, Pikachu received a brand new balloon for the 80th anniversary. Pikachu’s ears became deflated during the 2012 Thanksgiving Day Parade. Last years parade saw the 3rd version of the Pikachu balloon which had cheeks that lit up giving off his electrical cheeks.
