PlayStation 4 Sales Performed Beyond Expectations for 2014

by GH Staff

Sony has recently shared news related to PlayStation 4 having exceeded sales expectations in the European territories.

Andrew House, the president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI), confirmed that PlayStation 4 performed within company expectations in North American and Japanese territories, however the European territories performed well beyond expectations to the point that House was surprised by the final numbers.

House also went on to say that he hopes for 2015 to be the year that PlayStation 4 sales surpass those of PlayStation 3, and that first-party exclusives such as The Order: 1886, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, and more being released this year should help with Sony’s overall success and goals for sales.

As of this writing, Sony has sold 18.5 million PlayStation 4 consoles worldwide since it’s launch back in November of 2013, and is currently the highest selling home console for this generation having passed the worldwide sales numbers for Xbox One and Wii U.
