Until Dawn

Developer Supermassive Games has released a new teaser trailer for the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive horror title Until Dawn.

Until Dawn was showcased during The Game Awards last night (December 5th) and at the PlayStation Experience keynote today.

The minute-and-a-half trailer features all eight playable characters — Sam, Josh, Jessica, Mike, Emily, Matt, Ashley and Chris — fighting for their lives against a masked tormentor.

“When eight friends are trapped on a remote mountain retreat and things quickly turn sinister, they start to suspect they aren’t alone,” reads the synopsis from Until Dawn’s official website.

“Gripped by fear and with tensions in the group running high, you’ll be forced to make snap decisions that could mean life, or death, for everyone involved.

“Every choice you make in your terrifying search for answers – even the seemingly trivial ones – will carve out your own unique story.”

Until Dawn was initially developed to utilise the PlayStation Move and was set for release on PlayStation 3, but the title has now been revamped for PlayStation 4 and uses the DualShock 4’s motion sensor.

Sharing a similar style with Quantic Dream’s critically acclaimed Heavy Rain, Supermassive Games’ title is driven through the use of a butterfly effect, meaning players’ choices can impact the fate of their characters and alter course of the story.

Starring Hayden Panettiere (Heroes, Nashville and Scream 4), Until Dawn is scheduled to launch in 2015 for PlayStation 4.
