Sony has officially confirmed that their new cloud-based entertainment service PlayStation Vue will be launching during the first-quarter of 2015.
The confirmation was made during CES 2015 this week by Kaz Hirai, president and SEO of SCEI, who went on to say that PlayStation Vue will “reinvent the television viewing experience.”
The new service will allow users to access live events, movies, and TV show episodes by using a cloud-based system.
Last November, select owners of PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 were able to access an invite-only beta to test out the service.
While Sony has yet to confirm all of the devices that will be compatible with PlayStation Vue, a specific release date, or even a price point, we at least now know that the service will see a release very early this year.
PlayStation Vue will be released first-quarter of 2015 with additional details to more than likely be released soon.
