The good news keeps rolling in for Nintendo.

In addition the recent news that Super Smash Bros. For Wii U has managed to sell nearly 500,00 copies in three days, Nintendo’s other major fall titles Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby for the 3DS has managed to shift a whopping 3 million copies in 3 days.

To be exact the two re-masters sold 3,040,000 million copies. This is an impressive feat considering that Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby have not even launched in European markets yet. As expected, a large potion of the sales have come from Nintendo’s homeland, Japan, where the re-masters have sold 1,534,593 copies, the rest of the sales came from North America and Australia.

The last Pokémon titles, Pokémon X and Y, have been able to sell over 12 million copies since there launch last year. The last Pokémon remakes where Heart Gold and Soul Sliver, for comparisons sake they achieve lifetime sales of 12.7 million. With such strong sales it is quite possible for Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby to outsell both Pokémon X and Y and Heart Gold and Soul Sliver, although it is worth mentioning that Heart Gold and Soul Sliver were released on the Nintendo DS, a system with a much, much larger install base.

Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby have already been released in Japan, North America and Australia, Europeans will finally be able to get their hands on the re-masters this friday.

Do you think that Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby can outsell its predecessors? Tell us in the comments below.
