Boston, Massachusetts will be holding the 2015 Pokemon World Championship
After this years successful Pokemon World Championship last August the official Pokemon website has revealed details for the 2015 Pokemon World Championship.
The Championship is due to take place between August 21st and August 23rd in Boston Massachusetts and players of both the Pokemon Trading Card and Video game will be fighting for their share of the $500,000 worth of scholarship rewards. The rewards for coming first will be higher too, with the Pokemon Video Game World Champion getting a $10,000 scholarship and the Pokemon Trading Card World Champion getting $25,000 in scholarships.
The 2015 Pokemon World Championship will be an invite only event, so only players who receive an invite from Pokemon Organized Play will be able to take part. Invites will be sent to players based on the end of season Championship Points and depending on the region in which you live in you may need more Championship Points. For example players in Europe and the US will need 300 in the Master Division while players in South Africa will need 200.
Depending on how well players do some will even be able to skip the first day of the Championship and these players will also get Travel Awards so they can make it to Boston. Finally unlike this year the 2015 Pokemon World Championship won’t have a Last Chance Qualifier round so “all invitees will have to earn their spot by racking up Championship Points in competitions throughout the year. That means all three days of Worlds weekend are dedicated to the players who have put in all the hard work needed to qualify!“.
