Nintendo announced a limited edition SteelBook bundle of the upcoming titles Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire for Europe which will be available starting November 28. The cases appear to be of great quality featuring the respective title’s mascot on the cover and on the inside, the two legendaries Groudon and Kyogre battling one another. Also shown in the image is that the games will come in a larger box similar to previous Heart Gold and Soul Silver games. This was not addressed in the initial tweet but speaks highly towards the term “bundle” so, it can be left up to the imagination as to what extra goodies will come with the exclusive releases. It wouldn’t make much sense to have that box and waste the extra space by only containing a copy of the game. In previous titles that had the larger cardboard box like Heart Gold, Soul Silver and non-Pokémon title Kid Icarus: Uprising, a useful add-on was included.

The Pokemon remakes came with a Pokéwalker; a pedometer that let you train your Pokemon of choice on the go and, Kid Icarus came with a handy stand for your 3DS/3DS XL that made playing the game much easier on the hands. It also came with AR cards. So what else could be bundled with the SteelBook editions of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire? When looking closely at the top of the larger box two images can be seen side by side. Assuming these are the contents and one is the game, buyers can expect one more item. Could it be a reincarnated Pokéwalker or pack of AR cards, something that 3DS owners haven’t seen in quite some time?

Though not the answer to “WHAT’S IN THE BOX?!” the UK Nintendo shop has also added images of bonus loot for preorder customers. When customers preorder the SteelBook bundles they will receive a detailed figurine of the legendary depicted on the cover in their primal form. These figures will be given to preorders from the online shop as well as Game and make me wish the SteelBook bundles would make their way to the United States.

What do you think of the SteelBook editions? Do you hope they are released elsewhere? What do you think comes with the game? Do you approve of the preorder bonus? Excited for the remakes?
