Good news for all you Pokemon fans out there. Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are on the way, as you may have heard, and it’s been revealed that they’re bringing back one of the series’ most popular features, which is the ability to create secret bases. In the older Sapphire and Ruby Pokemon games, players were able to make bases and decorate them with random things that they bought or found around the land of Hoenn. You could put in chairs, Pokemon-themed pillows, and even piano key steps that chime when you step on them. The inclusion of secret bases in those games was hailed as a good addition to the franchise and it looks like this time around you’ll be able to do much more with your base.
Usually having this many dolls in one’s room is creepy, but in this case it’s o.k.How much more? Well according to reports, you’ll soon be able to pimp your base out with tricks and traps to capture intruders, much like how the gyms in the Pokemon world are built to annoyingly keep you from the Gym Leader. These intruders are another new feature to be put in the games, and i’m guessing that they’ll be other players from around the world, because you either get the option to chat or battle with them using battle rules of your choice. And apparently after you beat them in battle you can add them as Secret Pals, able to aid you on your journey with special abilities.
A new capture the flag mini-game has also been added, allowing you to actually play capture the flag with your friends and strangers alike. Whenever you enter a player’s base, a flag will be inside of a PC found in the base. If you’re able to traverse the hazards of the base and take the flag you win the game. And yes, you’ll have the option to cordially visit to your friends’ bases as well as showing off your own base to the world.

Nintendo looks like they’re expanding on the connectivity and togetherness of last year’s title, which is definitely a good thing in our ever socially expanding world.
