A new event has been confirmed for Pokémon X & Y in Japan, with users able to download a shiny version of the Hoenn Psychic-type legendary Pokémon Jirachi.

Running from December 1st, 2014 to May 28th, 2015, the event has been confirmed exclusively for Japan (at this moment in time) and people need to head down to their local Pokémon Centers and purchase a Pokémon with You wristband, a Japanese-based charity established in 2011 due to an earthquake and tsunami which occurred in Tōhoku, in order to receive a special serial code for the rare Pokémon.

Serebii has stated that they are unsure “if this shiny Jirachi matches the one given at the Tanabata Festival in Tōhoku earlier this year,” with that particular Pokémon set at level 10 upon distribution, holding a Comet Shard and a confirmed moveset including Wish, Swift, Healing Wish and Moon Blast.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the remakes of the 2002 Game Boy Advance games, can also redeem the serial code for the title, meaning users have an option to opt for the upcoming Pokémon titles over X & Y.

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will launch in Japan and North America on November 21st, while Europe is scheduled to have the two titles released on November 28th.
