After yesterday’s announcement that The Evil Within will be delayed until October, Bethesda Softworks has released a new reaction video, as well as, details about pre-order bonuses. If you pre-order the game for its October release, you will receive the ‘Fighting Chance Pack.’ Obviously, the pack includes several items that will be crucial to the player during his or her play through; for those who do not know, The Evil Within is supposed to bring the survival horror genre back to its roots. Besides having Shinji Mikami as its creator, the game’s limited items will affect the way the gamer plays. So the ‘Fighting Chance Pack’ includes a medical kit, green gel upgrade, double barrel shotgun with three shells, an incendiary agony bolt, and a poison agony bolt. The last two items has to do with a crossbow that supposedly plays an important role in the gameplay.
Now with the release of this information, the marketing team has published a reaction video of people playing the demo. With an abundance of horror games being released, the reaction video has been the new type of advertisement that has flooded the medium. Personally, these videos have quickly gotten old, but I can understand their intention.
Bethesda Softworks is publishing the survival horror title by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and his company Tango Gameworks: the Evil Within will be the first release from this company that was founded in 2010. Again, Mikami has promised that The Evil Within will be “a true return to the roots of the survival horror genre.” The game will be released in North America on October 21 for the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
