At a briefing earlier today, Sony has officially announced the release of PS Vita Slim for the UK market on February 7, 2014. The company has teased the upcoming briefing last week, but no official details have been mentioned until now.
The new version of the portable console is twenty percent thinner than its predecessor and fifteen percent lighter. The nicely lit OLED display has been changed for a 5-inch LCD one, supposedly to lengthen the battery life and made the device cheaper.
The PS Vita Slim will be available on February 7 at the price of £180. Although the portable console is available in six different colors, only a black model will be available in the UK. As the upcoming Sony’s cloud gaming platform PlayStation Now will be available to the PS Vita, a cheaper slimmer version of the console may just be the right purchase, especially for those who already own a PlayStation 4.
Will you be waiting in anticipation for February 7?
