PS3, PS4, and PS Vita Total Over 100 Million Units Sold

PS Vita owners getting regunded up to $50 for misleading ads

PlayStation Japan has released a new video which talks about its “Official Licensed Product” promotions. One of the more interesting parts of the video is that it reveals that Sony’s current hardware (PS3, PS4, and PS Vita) has passed the 100 million combined units sold milestone. With those numbers, the PlayStation ecosystem certainly appears healthy, and that’s exactly what Sony wants to portray to third party manufacturers for peripherals and other products.

The video unfortunately doesn’t give a break down of each individual piece of hardware’s sales, but certain figures can be estimated using recent sales data. November of last year we learned that the PS3 had sold over 80 million units and it has probably added a few million since then given the continued support for last gen consoles. A few months ago we learned the PS4 had surpassed 7 million units. The Vita, unfortunately, is scarcer when it comes to official sales data from Sony, probably due to its poor sales. However, taking the other estimates into account it probably rests somewhere around 10 million units.

Do you think PS4 will surpass the PS3’s sales numbers? Let us know in the comments.
