The popular company behind Minecraft, Mojang is now Microsoft owned. Microsoft announced back in September that they would buy Mojang, and by the end of 2014, finalize the deal. Markus Persson promised he would leave the company after the deal, and now it is completed has left.

The CEO of Microsoft Game Studies, Phil Spencer announced over Twitter that the purchase has been made official, and the Microsoft Studios welcomes Mojang. He also stated that he sold the company for his sanity as opposed to the money.

In Europe, Mojang is the second wholly studio that Microsoft owns. People were worried after the sale of Mojang to Microsoft that Microsoft will put Minecraft solely on their Windows PCs and consoles. However, Microsoft stated that Minecraft will remain on all, and all consoles will get updates. Even if they are on Microsoft or Sony’s. Minecraft has sold over 54 million copies across multiple platforms that make it the game best selling in history.

Microsoft said that at the same time, they expect to earn a lot of money since they purchase for $2.5 billion. Many are wondering how Microsoft will achieve this, but they did not disclose their plans.

The head of Xbox, Phil Schiller, wants Minecraft’ mods, for the PC to console. The two versions are both different because the PC version has a good amount of content that the Minecraft community created. 4J Studious, Minecraft’s developers said they would have a new update, in which mobs such as horses and donkey will be brought to the game.

Users will be able to tame and breed the horses, and Xbox One will be the first deliver the update, even on other consoles.

The big question now is will Sony consoles, and others get the Minecraft update, or will Microsoft use this advantage of keeping other consoles outdated?
