With the recent removal of Kinect in Xbox One bundles, Rare’s focus has seemingly moved away from their Kinect Sports series. What Rare is working on has yet to be known, although Microsoft has stated that support for Rare is still strong with no plans to abandon the legendary studio. Also mentioned was confirmation that Rare are working on new projects.
The big question is could this finally be the year that Banjo Kazooie, Conker or any of Rare’s numerous successful IPs return to grace our systems? It’s definitely in the realm of possibility. We haven’t had a new Conker since Conker: Live and Reloaded on the original Xbox in 2005, and Banjo Threeie has been rumored ever since the release of Banjo-Tooie in 2000. Conker recently showed up as a cameo character in Project Spark, so we know he is in Microsoft’s thoughts.
Either way, keep your eyes on GamerHeadlines for any news about Rare’s big upcoming year.
