MMO -Champion has revealed that WoW may soon get a restriction filed free Veteran Edition

According to a recent datamining of the upcoming Patch 6.1 by MMO-Champion,  has revealed that World of Warcraft may soon be getting a free-to-play version titled Veteran Edition.

Like all free to play models the Veteran Edition will of course have its fair share including but possibly not limited to a cap on levels, money and how many whispers players will be able to send and to who. These players will also be unable sign any Guild charters or use the Looking For Group feature either. These restrictions will sound familiar to anybody who has tried World of Warcrafts current Trial Edition which allows players to play up to level 20 for free.

While it sounds like the Veteran Edition may be Blizzards attempt to add World of Warcraft to the list of subscription based MMO that became Free-to-Play titles, the name Veteran Edition and the fact that characters can join guilds if that player already has a character in that guild hints otherwise. At the moment Veteran Edition sounds like it’s aimed more at players who have quit WoW but never really lost that itch to turn it on one more time yet still don’t due to subscriptions.

A recent datamining of the upcoming Patch 6.1 by MMO-Champion has revealed that World of Warcraft may soon be getting a free-to-play version called the Veteran Edition.
