Release date announced for Telltale’s Game of Thrones series

by GH Staff

Telltale today announced the release date of the first episode in their upcoming Game Of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series.

Details on the launch of the highly anticipated title were revealed in a series of tweets by the company on Thursday.

Telltale revealed that, as has been the case with previous series such as The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, the PC version of the game will drop first – as soon as Dec. 2. The Playstation 4 version will also be released on the 2nd, with the Xbox One and 360 versions dropping the following day.

Unlike previous Telltale series there won’t be a significant wait for the iOS version this time around, with the game confirmed to be available on the App Store by December 4th. The Playstation 3 version won’t be available until Dec. 9.

As has become Telltale’s want the game will be released in episodic instalments – a system that fans of the developer have become accustomed to – and there is no word on when we can expect the second episode in the series. Telltale’s avid fan-base will be hoping they’re not left waiting as long as they were for the second instalment of The Wolf Among Us, which took almost four months to be released.

Significant details regarding the first episode, labeled Iron From Ice, including setting, characters and plot were revealed in a recent trailer on Telltale’s official website. The story is set towards the end of Season 3 of HBO’s hit TV show and features a plot revolving around House Forrester, who are described as ‘always loyal to the Starks’. Several popular characters from the show also make an appearance, with Cersei and Tyrion Lannister amongst those depicted in the trailer.
