Although the game features a visibly distressed Lara undergoing therapy after the events of 2012’s Tomb Raider, the description of the game explains Microsoft’s intention to move forward with her comprehensive story; “In the next chapter of her journey, Lara must use her survival skills and wits, learn to trust new friends, and ultimately accept her destiny as the Tomb Raider,” explained Crystal Dynamics. As for how the game will play out on the Xbox One, Microsoft was open to comment: “Featuring epic, high-octane action moments, Rise of the Tomb Raider will take gamers to multiple locations around the world filled with exploration spaces that are some of the most beautifully hostile places on earth,” reassured the source at IGN. Live commentary was able to place some viewer’s concerns for gameplay at rest. It won’t be too far off from the 2012 version of Tomb Raider. Microsoft continued on with their ambitions for the 2015 release, “in addition, after hearing the cry from fans loud and clear, the game will put the tombs back into ‘Tomb Raider’ all in the franchise’s gritty Survival-Action style.”
