Ubisoft has confirmed that Rocksmith 2014 Edition will be heading to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this year.

Originally announced during Ubisoft’s E3 2013 press conference, Rocksmith 2014 was released in the same year for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but it seems that Ubisoft is intent on pushing the critically acclaimed music title on to the eighth generation consoles in the form of Rocksmith 2014 Edition.

According to a post on the Ubisoft blog, Xbox One and PS4 users will receive enhanced visuals in Rocksmith 2014 Edition and brand-new features, including the ability to stream and capture music composed from the title. Additionally, the PS4 version has Remote Play access, allowing the PlayStation Vita to be integrated with Rocksmith 2014 Edition.

Ubisoft have also stated that Rocksmith 2014 Edition will launch with more than 50 tracks to access (including songs from Avenged Sevenfold, Aerosmith, Def Leppard and Arctic Monkeys), but the title does offer the opportunity to transfer DLC bought from last-generation to current-generation console — content transfer corresponds with the console it was purchased on, which means Xbox 360 to Xbox One, or PS3 to PS4.

Gary Steinman, senior communications manager at Ubisoft’s blog, confirmed the title’s standard edition contains the real tone cable, allowing users to plug their guitar directly into the PS4 or Xbox One.

Running on the Gamebryo engine, Rocksmith 2014 Edition is scheduled for release on November 7th, 2014 for Xbox One and PS4.
