Rumor – Injustice: Gods Among Us Sequel Coming 2015?

by GH Staff

It seems that rumors follow rumors these days. Batman Arkham Knight was rumored to be delayed to 2015, according  to a report regarding a DC All Access panel during Wondercon. New information suggests otherwise; the source merely misheard that Arkham Knight would be coming in 2015. Instead, what could possibly be coming in 2015 is actually a sequel to Injustice: Gods Among Us, the 2013 fighting game developed by NetherRealm Studios. According to Expansive, using a quote taken from Furious Fanboys, this was what actually happened during Wondercon:

DC showed the Blur Studios’ CG trailer for Arkham Knight, which earned a lot of cheers and applause. It was pretty loud, so you can’t blame someone for not hearing what came next, but it wasn’t an Arkham Knight delay.

While people were applauding and cheering, they specifically say that Batman: Arkham Knight would be released later this year. After that statement is what most people didn’t hear, and they said to prepare for the return of Injustice. The “not a 2014 title” statement applied to the new Injustice, not the Batman sequel. No other details about the new Injustice, such as who is developing it, was revealed but it is apparently on the way…just not this year.

So contrary to previous rumors, Arkham Knight isn’t being delayed at all and instead we might be getting a sequel to Injustice. Arkham Knight was previously confirmed for a October 14 2014 release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, and it seems that this will continue to be the case. Injustice received an Ultimate Edition last year, which contained all of the DLC characters released after the game’s launch, which was on XBox 360,PC,  PS3 and PS4. It stands to reason that a sequel to Injustice would be a next gen exclusive and it may or may not follow after the storyline of the original game. Rocksteady have not yet commented on the release date of Arkham Knight since all these rumors started.
