Call it a DayZ clone if you want (hint: it isn’t), but nevertheless, Rust has sold over 1-million units. Available as part of the Steam Early Access program for barely under a month, developer Gary Newman is certainly ecstatic about the news. It has received quite a few updates since the game was released, most notably a patch that removes zombies from the game, placing the focus more on crafting new fortresses, gear, and supplies while trying to survive and defend yourself from player-controlled bandits. It’s a new take on the ‘survival’ genre that has cropped up since DayZ became all of the rage over a year ago.
Interested? Rust can be yours on Steam for just $19.99 – well worth the price of admission.
