Complaints bombarded Australian censorship board for its ban on Saint Row 4 and State of decay- two games found guilty of using drugs and being violent. This was revealed in the annual report of censorship agency.

During the year, 695 computer video games were considered by Australian Classification Board, out of which only 291 games received G classification. This classification means that these games are suitable and can be played by everyone.

Saint Row 4 and State of decay were the games that received RC (refused classification). This classification put a ban on them meaning that they can’t be advertised, sold, exhibited and hired.

According to censorship board, Saint Row 4 was banned because of destroying alien Zin Empire, players have to use alien narcotics and implied sexual violence. These things also act as a source that increases in-game skills of players.

Same happened with zombie apocalypse game-State of decay. This game also uses dangerous drugs like amphetamines and morphine for increasing player’s skills. Though, State of decay contained no sexual violence but still drugs introduction in game was found enough to ban it.

This year, 795 complaints were received by censorship board for both Saint Row 4 and State of Decay and almost all gamers were objecting to bans. Out of 795, Saint Row 4 received 507 complaints with gamers opposing ratings of RC while State of Decay attracted 270 complaints over its ban.

For meeting censorship board’s requirements, both game publishers made changes to them and now they are available. It is assumed that re-availability of Saint Row 4 and State of Decay might please its lovers a lot.
