Phone manufacturers have also switched to tablets in order to diversify their market. Samsung, one of the leading smartphone makers, has gone ahead and released both 10 and 7 inch tablets to take care of different markets and so has LG. Today, this guide is going to compare Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and LG G Pad 10.1, two 10 inch tablets from different companies.
Design
Being a 10.5 inch tablet, the Samsung measures 9.74 x 6.98 x 0.26 inches compared to LG G Pad 10.1 that is 10.27 x 6.53 x 0.35 inches. The former weighing just 429 grams whereas the LG is 523 grams heavy.
Display
As mentioned before, these two are ten inch tablets although the LG has a 10.1 inch screen while the Samsung sports a 10.5 inch screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels compared to LG’s 1280 x 800 pixels. Both devices have light sensors and multi-touch enabled.
Camera
For a tablet, the camera is not as important as it ia mobile phone. However, Samsung still went ahead and gave this tablet an 8 MP rear camera with an LED flash. Its rear camera 2.1 MP. The LG tablet, on the other hand, has a 5 MP main camera with a 1.3 MP front facing camera. Unfortunately, LG G Pad 10.1’s camera lacks some interesting features present in the Samsung such as digital image stabilization, HDR, scenes, effects, self-timer and exposure compensation amongst others.
Performance and Operating System
Whether you are looking at a phone or tablet, this is one very important area. Samsung features an 8-core, 1900 MHz processor while the LG has a 4-core processor clocked at 1200 MHz. To complement its 8 cores is 3GB RAM. Unfortunately, LG has only 1 GB RAM. Both tablets have nice GPUs and expansion storage slots. Furthermore, they both have android version 4.4.2, KitKat.
Battery
There is not much difference between the batteries found in these devices. In fact, Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 has a battery with a capacity of 7900 mAh, just a mere 100 mAh less than that of the LG.
Verdict
Given the few features that have been compared, the Samsung, without any doubt takes the day after beating this LG is almost all the features.
