Tab S 10.5 is no doubt the more recent tablet amongst the two. The reason they are being compared is that, both of them have some interesting drawbacks. Nexus 10 is actually worth having a look at. In addition to that, Nexus 10 is lower in price range compared to Tab S 10.5 as well. Can the latter truly beat its predecessor in terms of specs?

This tab differs with recent Samsung tabs in terms of thickness, design & display. It is more primitive in design.
Design & Display
It weighs 603 grams and has wide edges which protrude from the sides. One of the advantages of having a body like this is that you get a better grip on it, unlike the more trimmed tabs of this date. The 10.1 inch screen has Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection on it. The Super PLS capacitive technology on the display makes it extremely bright. The screen resolution is 299 pixels per inch which is actually more than Tab S 10.5.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
Internal 16/32 GB – it’s your choice, but beware, this phone does not have an expandable memory slot! Its 2 GB RAM is quite flattering to its Dual core processor. Initially it was released in Android OS JellyBean version but now it is upgradable up to Android OS KitKat version. For imaging you get a fully equipped 5 mega pixels primary camera and a 1.9 mega pixels front camera. But you can use video call feature only via Wi-Fi. This phone has no SIM slot, let alone 4G connectivity. But it has a good 9000mAh battery power.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5
Samsung has come up with some upgraded features with this version of Tab S. it was released in July 2014 and is now within the high price range.
Design & Display
Just like all the good quality display nowadays, this tab too features Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen. However it lacks Gorilla Glass 2 protection like Nexus 10 and its 10.5 inches screen has a lower resolution compared to Nexus 10. Fingerprint sensors have been enabled though.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
Unlike Nexus 10, this tab actually has an expandable memory slot up to 128 GB apart from the internal 16/32 GB memory slot. It also has SIM slot so, you can access up to 4G connect. Now the camera in this tab is 8MP and has all the features that Nexus 10 has. The secondary camera is also 2MP. It also features a Quad core processor and has a 3 GB RAM support.
Overall
Nexus 10 is actually a decent tab which you can completely go for if you are budget conscious. Otherwise, go for Tab S 10.5, as it has a better RAM, processor and camera.
