These days, Google Chrome is quickly becoming a browser of choice for many users worldwide. It seems that not so long ago, people were all about Mozilla’s Firefox, Opera or Apple’s Safari. This is not the case anymore for many people. However, despite all of its popularity, Chrome is often not being utilized to its full potential. Not many users are even aware of such things as extensions for browsers. They also do not seem to realize that you can give your productivity a significant boost by using them. In this article, I wanted to give you a short list of the extensions that I personally consider to be very useful and do not require any complex knowledge to use effectively. All of those extensions can be found in the Chrome app store. Some of them are absolutely free, while others may cost a little bit of cash. You may want to take a quick look at this list instead of spending hours searching the store.
Adblock Plus
This is a very simple and efficient way to deal with those annoying ads that tend to pop up everywhere you go on the internet. More specifically, I’m talking about Youtube and other kinds of ads, various banners, pop-ups and so on. If you are like me and you just can’t be bothered to close all of those nasty ads that seem to appear from nowhere, this extension will become your best friend.
Mighty text
This is a relatively new and fancy extension that allows users to send MMS as well as SMS with the help of your computer. It is done by syncing your phone with your PC. All of the text you send (as well as receive) will be stored as a copy on your mobile device for you to read later. This is very useful for people who can’t (or don’t want to) use their phone every time they want to send an SMS.
Gmail offline mode
Even if you are a veteran Gmail user, I bet you did not know that such a feature existed. This email service is one the most popular in the world, used both for professional and personal business. Besides communicating, you can use it to store various data, such as your data, conversations, etc. Using an offline add-on, you can now view this information at any time. The way it is done is by storing your emails and contacts directly in your PC’s memory. You can even prepare a response for a particular letter and it will be automatically sent to the user once you go online.
Pocket Extension
This application is very good for those of you who like to read various articles online. The way it does it is by saving the text in offline mode. Once saved, the text is synced to your Google account, which allows you to view it on the variety of mobile devices. This app is part of a bigger web site called Pocket (hence the name).
