Smash 4 has shown to be one of the more popular games of the year, however some players of Smash 4 for the 3DS woke up to an unpleasant surprise this morning, a 136 year ban from the game.
The ban from the game’s online mode has been rumored to have been caused by a number of factors, such as targeting a player repeatedly, or disconnecting frequently from matches. These rumors most likely emerged out of previously reported punishments from Nintendo for certain playstyles, which were considered controversial at best. However, a post from redditor, DarkLordShrek, received confirmation from Nintendo support that the bans were not deliberately given, and were caused by a bug, possibly due to a computational error when giving out actual bans. A fix is already in the works so there shouldn’t be a need to call Nintendo support about the issues as a fix is already being worked on.
