Sony has announced that PlayStation Plus will be free this weekend for PlayStation 4 users only.
A Reddit user, MonsterTheGreatest, posted a screenshot that confirms that non-PS Plus members will be able to access the multiplayer of PS4 titles from January 16th to January 18th.
Since its inception on June 29th, 2010, PS Plus’ paid service has continued to expand and offered discounts on add-ons and free titles to download each month for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.

The popularity for the subscription-based service has continued to increase and Sony revealed last week that more than 10.9 million people are now PlayStation Plus members.
Earlier this month, Sony said that it would be reimbursing the days that PlayStation Plus users missed when the PlayStation Network was the subject of a cyber attack by the hacking group Lizard Squad during the 2014 Christmas period.
Additionally, all PlayStation Network members will receive a 10 per cent discount code to use in the PlayStation Store sometime this month, with Sony saying that this is “a thank you to all PSN members.”
