Sony Xperia C
Sony Xperia C is a mid-range dual-SIM phone with very decent features, some of which are usually found in high end devices only. Released in July 2013, it is available in Black, White and Purple color and is a real joy to use.
Design and Display
The Xperia C has a 5 inch display but with screen resolution of 540×960, the pixel density is very low (~220 ppi) which isn’t a very welcoming sight. The body may be plastic but given the quality of the plastic and the price, it’s a very good looking device.
Performance
It has a Quad-core 1.2 GHz processor with Mediatek MT6589 chipset. It has 1GB RAM with 4GB internal storage. With micro SD external storage support included up to 32GB, there’s plenty of space to store data. The device runs on Android OS, v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) with no future updates expected.
Multimedia and Accessories
Sony Xperia C has an 8 megapixel primary camera with autofocus and led flash support. 1080p video recording makes it a pretty handsome camera. There is also a secondary VGA camera included. Camera features include Geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection and HDR. The device has a standard set of accessories which include charging brick, data cable and hands free.
Battery
The removable Li-Ion 2390 mAh battery gives a pretty decent backup time and should run for 2-3 days on normal usage.
HTC Desire 601
Previously known as HTC Zara, the Desire 601 is mid-range phone launched by HTC in October 2013. HTC has packed in a lot of good features in this device. Available in Black, Silver and Red color, the Desire 601 has a firm grip and feels perfect in hand.

It has a display size of 4.5 inches and the screen resolution is 540×960, giving it a decent pixel density (~245 ppi). The quality of material used for the body is pretty good, making it a good looking phone.
Performance
The device has a Dual-core 1.4 GHz processor with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset. It has 1GB RAM with 8GB internal storage. It also has micro SD external storage support included up to 64GB, which means virtually unlimited storage space. The phone runs on Android OS, v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) and can be updated to v4.4.2 (KitKat).

Verdict
After seeing the specs of both devices, it is very clear that even though both devices pack a lot of functionality in them, Sony Xperia C is clearly superior to the HTC.
