Valve is today rolling out a new service for its omnipresent digital storefront, called the Steam Interactive Recommender. This thing is here to interact and recommend,… that’s pretty much it. It makes for a shabby friend though, as its memory isn’t the best, based on o… we heard stories.
In any case, be prepared for possibly not liking what this algorithm has to recommend as it’s still pretty experimental in nature and designed to really push the boundaries of intelligent art tarte recognition. At least in the very beginning, that is. You see, as with any such technology based on advanced neural models, however, the Steam Interactive Recommender should get better at its two jobs the more you use it.
So, just stick with it in the beginning and it promises to be a worthy addition to your PC game discovery tools over many years to come. Of course, you can tell it its services aren’t needed, whenever you want, but in case you aren’t such a heartless AI-hater, you will be able to find the Steam Interactive Recommender on your favorite games-related landing page after Gamer Headlines.
As with many recent additions to Steam, this thingy started out as a Steam Labs experiment that snowballed into a community-approved and widely welcomed solution.
