Valve marks a new record for Steam concurrent users – 7.6 million

by GH Staff

Valve continues to set new records as more than 7.6 million Steam users logged in yesterday. This marked a new peak for Steam’s concurrent usage.

The last record was set on the Thanksgiving holiday weekend when 7 million users were online. In comparison with last year’s 6 million concurrent users, Steam marks a huge high.

Although Valve is openly sharing the user data for Steam and its games, companies such as Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony don’t. According to the last data, the PlayStation Network has the staggering 150 million registered users, while Xbox Live has only 48 million. Information about registered Nintendo Network IDs is unavailable.

If the information is correct, then Valve might have a huge chance of overthrowing at least the Xbox One with its Steam Machines that are coming out next year as Steam currently has 65 million members.
