SteamWorld Dig PS4 PS Vita Release

Earlier today, the CEO of Image & Form Games Brjann Sigurgeirsson has officially announced that the mining platform adventure SteamWorld Dig will be coming to the next-gen PlayStation 4 as well as the PS Vita later in 2014.

Currently available on the Nintendo 3Ds and the PC, SteamWorld Dig is an extensive mining platform adventure game that was first released in August 2013. Taking control of Rusty, the player’s goal is to mine for different resources and ores, while investigating the randomized mines of the old western town of Tumbleton. Having similarities with Minecraft, the 2D adventure is filled with hundreds of hours of gameplay in a beautiful western style playground.

SteamWorld Dig has already proven to be a great handheld game and has been receiving good reception from both the public and critics alike. Although the game is 2D, the vibrant graphics of the game make it magnificent.

In his press release, Sigurgeirsson has also said that bringing the game to the PS4 and the PS Vita has been “a long-standing dream” of the development team of Image & Form Games. He also added that as the porting for the portable PlayStation console is a rather “long” project, they’ve decided to release it for Steam first.
