Pick up the classic Strider 1 and 2 when it comes to the PSN Store this October 7th
After it’s successfully reboot back in February 2014 by Double Helix, Capcom has confirmed that the classic Strider 1 and 2 will be slashing their ways onto the PSN Store on October 7th.
October 7th will also see a PSN Store update and the games will be sold as PS1 classics. Just like when it was released back on the PS1, the digital version of Strider 2 will have the hard as nails arcade version of Strider 1 bundled with it.
Like the reboot back in February, Strider 1 and 2 are both side scrolling hack and slash action adventure games. The series started in arcades but due to some legal problems and licensing, there was actually a Strider 2 game published back in 1990 by US Gold with no input from Capcom.
Due to poor reception Capcom would eventually make their own Strider 2 game in 2000 which was released for PS1 and arcades, and this is the version that’s coming to the PSN Stores in October 7th.
Since its being released as a PS1 Classic game, it will be available for purchase for the PS3, PSP and the PS Vita however at the moment Capcom have only announced that it will be available in the US.
Strider 1 and 2 will be for sale in the PSN Store from October 7th, and at the moment they will only be for sale in the US.
