For those of you who aren’t aware of Subway Surfer, it is is a game in which you have to escape from an Inspector and his dog with the help of your trusty hoverboard. The game can be quite difficult and so we have compiled a few tips and tricks to help you out!
The Fundamentals
Firstly you’ll want to make sure that you are familiar with the controls of the game, the basic controls are:
Swipe up – jump
Swipe down – roll
Swipe left – move to the left
Swipe right – move to the right
Double tap – grab hoverboard
So the above controls are quite basic, but you can also combine the controls to get more freedom in the game, such as combining the [jump] and [right] action to move to the right whilst you are in mid-air, similarly you can also combine the [jump] and [left] action to move to the left!
Score & Coins
One of the aspects of the game that many people struggle with is the score and coins – sometimes it can feel almost impossible to get a good amount, so what’s the best way to accumulate them? Well, you will want to go for ‘multipliers’ these are things in the game that will multiply your score and as a result you will gain more coins and rank higher on the leaderboard.
By far the best way to rank up your multiplier and get it to a high level (a multiplier of x30 is the maximum) is by completing the ‘Mission Sets’. You’ll want to focus on this as soon as possible as a high multiplier can allow you to rack up a high score in a very short amount of time!
Upgrades
Upgrades are also something that you should look into if you want to achieve a high score and get a lot of coins – there are many upgrades available to purchase and so this can often leave us wondering what the best option is.
Well, the coin magnet is one that you should be interested in if you are struggling to pick up a lot of coins throughout the game, this will allow you to act as a magnet and ‘attracts’ coins making it much easier to accumulate them.
The jet pack is also one of the most favorite upgrades coined by players, they are perhaps one of the best upgrades that you could purchase for getting a high score and a lot of coins as you are pretty much free from any obstacles.
Utilizing Coins
It should be noted that one of the best ways to get ahead in Subway Surfers is to use your coins wisely and develop your own spending strategy – you might feel as if it’s best to use up all of your coins at the end of the round in order to get a better round next time, or you might want to save your coins in order to purchase larger upgrades later on in the game. Try to see what works best for you and develop your own strategy around your playing style.
