According to a video posted on Xbox’s official YouTube channel, Insomniac Games’ upcoming open world Third-Person Shooter, Sunset Overdrive, has officially gone gold, meaning that the game is ready for its scheduled release later this month. You can check out the announcement video right down below.
Sunset Overdrive is game set in the fictional metropolis of Sunset City in 2027 where players take on the role of a FizzCo employee who must eliminate the OD’d, which are humans that have transformed into monsters by drinking an energy drink named Overcharge Delirium XT. It is heavily inspired by Insomniac Games’ previous work from the Ratchet & Clank series with the crazy weapon arsenal at your disposal and the visually-striking art style. Additionally, the game will also launch with the co-op mode Chaos Squad, which will support up to eight players in total.
Sunset Overdrive will launch exclusively on Xbox One on October 28, 2014 in North America and on October 31, 2014 in Europe. You can also pick up a white Kinect-less Xbox One bundle for $399/£329, which will launch on the same date.
