In today’s new Sunset TV, we got more of an in depth look at character customization. And, possibly the biggest thing, is that female characters will be in the games, as well as female assassins (We’re looking at you, Assassin’s Creed Unity). On top of this, the clothing in Sunset Overdrive will be gender neutral.
The host of the Sunset Overdrive YouTube series, Sunset TV, was answering questions from the fans about character customization. When asked: “Can you play as a female character?” he answered, “Of course. Self-expression is super important to us. You can be female. You can be male. You can be different skin tones. You can be different body types. And all of the clothing is gender neutral. So if you want to be a dude in a skirt, you can be a dude in a skirt.”
The picture they chose to show off Sunset Overdrive and it’s character customization is obviously a jab at Assassin’s Creed Unity and the controversy surrounding the fact that in it’s co-op mode, you will not have the option to play as a female character.
