Telltale Games Tease ”Unannounced Partnership, Original IP”

by GH Staff

Telltale Games’ Executive Advisor Dan Connors has revealed that the popular developers have some ”unnanounced partnerships and original IP” in the works at their studio.

In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, and speaking about stepping down as CEO, that role now belongs to co-found Kevin Bruner, Connors spoke about the company’s 2014 and upcoming 2015 schedule.

“2014 marked our tenth consecutive year of continued growth since co-founding Telltale with Kevin Bruner in 2004. In that time, we’ve been incredibly proud to have accomplished so much with some of the most talented people in entertainment,” said Connors. He added that while Bruner will proceed as CEO, Connors himself will stay on as a executive advisor to help maintain Telltale’s visison and storytelling.

However, the most interesting information came at the end of the interview with Connors teasing what was to come in the year ahead for the studio that brought us The Walking Dead Seasons 1 and 2, as well as the recently released Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones.

“We’re already working on some of the biggest franchises in entertainment, and when you add our unannounced partnerships and upcoming original IP, it’s clear the most exciting time to be at Telltale is now, and there will continue to be more and more opportunity to innovate ahead of us.”

What these partnerships are remain to be seen, and an original IP would mark the developer’s first release to not be based on an existing franchise. What would you like to see Telltale Games tackle next? And more importantly, what would you like to see come out of their doors that was entirely original?
