Publisher Bethesda Softworks’ survival horror title The Evil Within has received a launch trailer called “It Wants Out.”

“It Wants Out” consists of a montage of footage from the new horror title developed under Tango Gameworks and well-known Japanese director Shinji Mikami, AKA ‘the father of survival horror,’ in which protagonist Detective Sebastian Castellanos encounters the strange beings through his nightmarish journey.

“It was incredibly important to me and the team to bring the survival horror genre back to its roots,” Mikami said. “For us, it was all about creating fear and giving the player the enjoyment of conquering it.

“Up until now we’ve kept a lot of the game under wraps to avoid spoilers, so it’s very exciting that people are now able to experience the game from beginning to end.”

Earlier this week, an administrator on Bethesda Softworks’ official forums confirmed that The Evil Within will run at an aspect ratio of 2:35:1 and 30 frames per second on PC, but more recently, the same individual stated that PC users can enhance the frame rate and aspect ratio through a new debug console commands.

Running on a modified id Tech 5 engine, The Evil Within is now available in Europe and North America on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
