For those that enjoyed the latest DLC for Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us, fear not, you have not been Left Behind. Fans can watch a new mini-documentary showing some of the work that went into the story. The behind the scenes video features talks with the designers, writers and actors behind the story, which showed the relationship between Riley, originally a comic book spin-off and Ellie, one of the game’s main characters.
The Last of Us: Left Behind is a single-player addition to the storyline serving as a prequel to The Last of Us. It was released February 14, 2014 for $14.99 on the PlayStation Network. Left Behind tells the story of Ellie and Riley over the course of one night. The player is given control of Ellie throughout the story. Left Behind explores the connection between the two characters and shows parts of Ellie’s story that didn’t emerge in the base game. It also adds new gameplay features such as the ability to use the infected as traps for cannibals. The Last of Us: Left Behind has received very positive reviews and general critical acclaim, and for good reasons. It successfully combines addictive gameplay with impeccable story-telling and character development. Left Behind is a DLC that does justice to the original game, and is well worth the investment for Playstation owners.
For those that have missed it, Naughty Dog also released The Making of The Last of Us earlier this week.
