The Last of Us: Remastered is due out on Tuesday in North America and on Friday in the UK. It has been touted as a definitive version of the game containing all the multiplayer DLC as well as the brilliant single player DLC titled Left Behind. This remastered version of The Last of Us is a complete visual overhaul at full 1080p and playing at 60fps. The original release on the PS3 was no slouch in the graphical department and fully pushed the system to its full potential so this version on the PS4 should be a treat on the eyes.
But is it worth purchasing if you already own it or have finished it? If you haven’t played The Last of Us you should buy it without a shadow of a doubt. It is a masterpiece in narrative gaming and should be experienced by everyone. While the game won’t retail at full price, you won’t be getting any discount if you already own the PS3 edition.
To be honest I personally am willing to shell out some money to experience The Last of Us on the PS4. But that’s predominately because I’ve only played through the narrative once on its original launch. I decided to wait for a while before tackling it again so I can go into it with a fresh approach and savour the story once again. However if you’ve played it numerous times it is a bit of a difficult decision to make. Playing the game at full HD and at 60fps is definitely something that will change the gameplay for you. It will look a lot sharper and feature a lot more detail, and the 60fps factor will make the gameplay seem much more fluid and faster paced. I will definitely be purchasing The Last of Us: Remastered when it’s released on Friday over here in the UK, will you?
