The Last of Us Sells Six Million Units

The Last of Us developer Naughty Dog has announced that its critically acclaimed PlayStation 3 title has passed over six million global sales in among its plans for this year’s Game Developers Conference. The game has also recently received five BAFTA awards, including “Best Game in 2014”.

The Last of Us’ DLC Left Behind has also become the highest rated ever downloadable content for PlayStation 3, scoring 89 on Metacritic. Naughty Dog will also be attending GDC 2014 to talk about the process and techniques that went into developing The Last of Us, as well as what made Left Behind, the studio’s first ever singleplayer story as downloadable content, so unique.

Naughty Dog’s list of sessions for GDC, including times, dates and locations, can be found on its official website. What’s more, it has been confirmed that The Last of Us will be getting its own movie adaptation, which will be produced by Sam Raimi, most famously known for the Evil Dead films, with the game’s creative director Neil Druckmann as the adaptation’s screenwriter.
