Shortly after the announced change in subscription benefits in EverQuest II and PlanetSide 2 earlier this month, John Smedley, the president of Sony Online Entertainment talked on Reddit about a possible future single subscription model for some of the MMO titles that SOE has to offer. However, it wasn’t until yesterday when he officially confirmed that they went through with the plan and will soon present SOE All Access subscription that will offer gamers premium access to DC Universe Online, PlanetSide 2, Dragon’s Prophet and Vanguard: Saga of Heroes for just $14.99 per month.
Smedley further explained the SOE All Access Subscription plan to his fans via a Reddit AMAA session. He stated that users will be provided with 10 percent discount on in-game marketplace purchases, access to “exclusive promotions and offers” and 500 monthly Station Cash for them to use.
The new plan will be offered at special discount prices for players who pay for a three, six and 12 month subscriptions. Existing memberships will be upgraded to the new All Access plan as soon as it is made available.
The release date of the Sony Online Entertainment MMO All Access Subscription plan, as confirmed by Smedley is “about April 2.” In the AMAA session Smedley also talked about the closure of four SOE MMOs including Clone Wars Adventures and Vanguard and mentioned the future PlayStation 4 release of PlanetSide 2 and EverQuest Next.
