The third game in the franchise, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is currently in development by Polish developers at CD Projekt RED. Even though no official information about the release date has been revealed, speculation suggest that it will be available for the PC and the next-gen PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the second quarter of 2014.
Marketing manager and video game insider Shinobi has been known to be a trustworthy source when it comes to speculation and he recently shared that a certain Polish title, which rumors suggest is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be available at 720 pixels resolution and 30 FPS on the Xbox One and at 900 pixels resolution on the PlayStation 4.

Even though, he mentions that the team are working hard to keep the PS4 resolution at 1080p, it comes as no surprise that the Xbox One version will be only 720p as the gaming community already knows that almost every major release is natively running on a lower resolution on Microsoft’s next-gen console in comparison to Sony’s one.
Even though not a lot of information about the upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been officially revealed we already know that it will be quite demanding for the PC players. However, as it was seen in previous titles from the franchise, which still requires quite a lot of hardware power to run at maximum quality settings, the game’s minimum requirements will probably aimed at affordable gaming laptops and PCs.
When it comes to the story of the game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will conclude the story of old Geralt of Rivia. Although the gameplay is rumored to be close to the one seen in The Witcher 2, the game will be build on a new engine developed by CD Projekt RED called REDengine 3, which is designed specifically for non-linear RPGs. Multiplayer will probably not be included in the game, but this comes as no surprise as the game franchise is solely focused on a rich single player experience.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was announced back in February, 2013 for the PC and was later clarified that it will come to the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. The release date of the game is anticipated to be in the second quarter of 2014.
