Yet another week has come by and this off course means that the Nintendo eShop has seen some new arrivals as well as a deal or too so with that in mind here are this weeks new Nintendo eShop games: July 7th. This weeks games are the Gameboy Color’s Pokemon Trading Card Game for the 3DS, a demo for Jett Rocket II: The Wrath of Taikai also for the 3DS, Pop,n Twinbee for the Wii U and Wii Karaoke U for the Wii U.
Pokemon Trading Card Game( 3DS)
Released back in 2000 the Pokemon Trading Card Game was the tie-in video game for the at the time new Trading Card Game. The Pokemon Trading Card (video) Game sees you playing as a young boy as he travels across an Island taking its Club Masters (gym leaders) so they can fight the Grand Masters (Elite Four).
Along the way you’ll need to improve your deck so you can stand a chance against the Grand Masters as well as your Rival who appears to have graduated from the Gary Oak school of being a rival, Ronald.
The game is both a fun nostalgic trip for players who’ve been with the series since the start as well as an insight to the other side of the Pokemon franchise. Just get ready to get burned by bad luck.
Pop’n Twinbee (Wii U Virtual Console)
Pop’n Twinbee is a top-down shooter developed by Konami that was released back in 1993. In the game you play as either Twinbee or Winbee as they have to save a girl called Madoka from her grandfather Dr. Mardock who went insane after a bump on the head and now wants to conquer the world with an army of acorn men as you do.
Pop’n Twinbee was the first game in the series to add a health bar meaning you no longer died in one hit. Also when you start-up the game you get to choose between on of three little ships who help keep the danger off your back.
Since the original game on the SNES offered a two player mode, this may offer you some fun two player co-op options.
Wii Karaoke U (Wii U)
Developed by Joysound Wii Karaoke U jumps on the party gaming band wagon and stands as one of the few Music games without a celebrity endorsing it. Instead everybody in the game is a Mii so hopefully you’ve made a lot of them. Your Mii’s can be customised for their on stage performance as well. This game is made with the Karaoke enthusiast in mind as there are over 1,500 songs to choose from.
As a party game there are some two player modes including a versus mode which scores you as well as a ranking system and online leader-boards. One other interesting feature this game has is a practice mood which rates you on your performance in five different areas including Smoothness and Timing.
If your interested in giving Wii Karaoke U a try then you can download the game for free and get a 1 hour free trial.
Jett Rocket II: The Wrath of Taikai Demo(3DS, Free)
The final game coming to the eShop this week is the demo to Jett Rocket II: The Wrath of Taikai, the platform series by Shin’en Multimedia which asks if platformers can be improved with jetpacks.
That being said jetpacks aren’t the only items you can use as the games recent trailer shows Jett Rocket using an item which spawns platforms. Besides the jetpack and items though Jett Rocket II appears to be a very basic platformer but the demo’s free so it’s worth a shot right?
So that’s this weeks new Nintendo eShop games: July 7th but before I finish I should also mention that the NES Remix games are on offer. Till July 24th if you buy either of the two games you get 30% off the other game.
