Esports have never been so popular. The International,  Valve’s annual official world championship for Dota 2, has sold out after a mere hour of the event’s tickets going live. Valve’s Doug Lombardi confirmed the news to onGamers stating that over 10,000 tickets have been sold. The four day event will take place on July 18th at the Key Arena in Seattle.  Key Arena could not confirm if any more tickets would be put on sale.

Tickets are already appearing on eBay for as much as $450 for only general admission. Pricing for the event was as follows; four day regular tickets cost $99, floor seating $199, and $499 for a VIP ticket. The International 2014’s prize pool will follow closely to last year with more than $2.5 million to be won. The International 2013 saw Alliance beat Natus Vincere in five games to win a $1.4 million first-place prize. The previous tournament was watched by more than 1 million online viewers.

This year will see 11 teams compete in the tournament with four regional qualifiers taking place from May 12th through May 25th. The winner of each regional qualifier will secure a guaranteed place in the finals, while the four runners ups will compete for the final position in the tournament. Beginning July 8th, there will be six days of playoffs to determine which teams will enter the competition.
