Titanfall 2 will not be a Microsoft exclusive, says report

by GH Staff

If you don’t own a Microsoft console and were hoping to get your hands on Titanfall without having to spend money on another console, you may not have to once the sequel rolls around. Following on yesterday’s report by one of Gamespot’s sources that EA has already secured the rights to Titanfall 2, a new report, this time from Polygon, has recently informed them that not only is the sequel being planned but that it will be released on multiples consoles as well, such as Sony’s PS4 and Nintendo’s Wii U.

Titanfall is currently exclusive to Xbox One, PC and will soon be released on the Xbox 360. Back in October, during an investor call, Electronic Arts CFO mentioned that Titanfall would be an Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC exclusive “for the life of the title”. Coincidentally, around that same time frame when Redspawn Entertainment CEO and co-founder Vince Zampella was asked if the company would evre make a PS4 game, he said: “Of course we will, just not the first Titanfall.”

Neither Zampella or any other representative from Redspawn have commented on the recent rumors of Titanfall going multi-platform and an Electronic Arts representative had this to say when asked by Polygon:

“We do not comment on rumor or speculation. Right now all our focus is on supporting all the fans worldwide enjoying Titanfall.”

Since its release, Titanfall is doing well enough to warrant a sequel, but it is still a mystery whether that sequel will remainĀ  a Microsoft exclusive, especially after this latest report.
