Titanfall – Alpha is beginning soon, a custom Xbox controller is revealed and more

by GH Staff

A few lucky Xbox One owners will be receiving invites for Titanfall’s closed alpha testing phase. A strict Non-Disclosure Agreement will be involved (obviously), which means youtube gameplay footage is unlikely to follow. The exact date for the alpha testing stage’s beginning is unknown, but given the fact that the game is set to launch of the 11th of March in the US and on the 13th in Europe, it’s safe to assume it’s soon. The controversial Titanfall 6vs6 mode will most likely be the target of the alpha testing.

On the other hand, there’s no information on an up-coming beta stage test for the game. Respawn Entertainment made it clear that they are not ready to reveal anything beta-related just yet.

If you’re not among the lucky few to be invited to the Alpha, you can at least consider looking forward to a limited edition Titanfall wireless controller for the Xbox One. Retailed at $65 (normal wireless controllers for the Xbox One cost $60), this C-101 rifle inspired controller was designed by Respawn and Microsoft, and will be launching alongside the game on the 11th of March.

And, if you have really deep pockets and are already considering yourself a Titanfall fan, there’s a Collector’s Edition box in preps for Titanfall too. It will cost a whooping $250, and among the goodies included will be a 18 inch (roughly 46cm) tall statuette. A $100 deposit will be required for pre-orders. You can take a look at the statuette below:
