Get ready to return to the oni hunt this March 27th when Toukiden: Kiwami lands on the PS4 and the PS Vita

Dust off your blades and get practicing because today on the PlayStation Blog the community manager of Koei Tecmo Europe, Chin Soon Sun announced that Toukiden: Kiwami will be coming the PS4 and the PS Vita this March 27th.

Toukiden: Kiwami will feature both the original story from Toukiden: The Age of Demons as well as a brand new story which will be roughly the same length. This means that players will be able to interact with popular characters from the last game like Ōka and Hayatori as well as new characters such as Reki, Sōma and Horō. These new characters will help add depth to the new story which aims to reveal the truth about both the origins of the Slayers and the mysterious Council of Elders.

The new story itself will take place three months after the battle to prevent another Awakening, where the new peace was destroyed by an attack by never before seen Oni from the North. For those looking for an introduction into the story of Toukiden: Kiwami will want to check out this six-minute long anime which serves as an introduction to the world.

Along with the new story and slayers, Toukiden: Kiwami also comes with over 100 new Mitama as well as the new Naginata weapon and of course the new Oni of the North including that mysterious Snowflame. In total there will be double the amount of Oni from the last title.

Well that’s one way to neuter your pet I guess.

To aid you in the fight against this new Oni, players will be able to join forces with three other people and Kiwami will strengthen the multiplayer aspect as well with the new Destoryer moves, which can only be used in cooperation with either human players or NPC’s. The games NPC slayers will also be improved which will allow “you to work with smarter and more realistic allies than ever before in the war against the Oni!“.

Slayers out there looking for a greater challenge will want to check out the new special missions types, which will contain rewards and Mitami that can only be gained by completing them.

Finally players will be able to carry over all of their weapons, armour, Mitami and their progress levels from Toukiden: The Age of Demons to Kiwami as well.

Today on the PlayStation Blog Koei Tecmo Europe community manager has announced that the sequel to Toukiden: The Age of Demons titled Toukiden: Kiwami will be released on March 27th for the PS4 and PS Vita.
